This marbled vase was thrown with 4 different clay bodies that were slightly wedged together, each clay boasting an individual color; black, red, white, and off-white. The process of throwing on the wheel naturally created the multi-colored spiral effect seen on the piece. Once bisque fired, the piece was coated in a thick layer of Georgies’ “No More Tears” clear glaze, which muted the black and red hues to look more earth toned. The unglazed clay at the base of the piece show off the original colors of the clay.<\/p>\n
