This 9oz cup was built from a flat slab, which was imprinted with 2 leafs from a Japanese maple tree harvested near the studio while the slab was still flat.<\/p>\n
Once the slab was formed into a cylinder and bisque fired, green under glaze was hand painted into the crevasses left behind by the plant. The piece was then dipped into a clear glaze, leaving a creme colored glossy glaze finish over a majority of the piece.<\/p>\n
The glaze is just see through enough to make out the texture from the cloth used in the slab rolling process.<\/p>\n
Built from a slab on the thinner side, this unique drinking vessel is sure to be a conversation piece!<\/p>\n
Handle with care. All pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe, but you may want to wash by hand.<\/p>\n
