This medium 3-clay marbled ceramic bowl is the perfect blend for both function and decor.

This set of bubble bowls was thrown with a white clay body and trimmed on the wheel. Once bisque fired, the pieces were decorated by blowing blue bubbles onto the surface of the bowls using a mix of under-glaze, soap, and water. After the bubbles naturally pop, dried rings of colorant remain where the bubbles met, dried, and popped on the stoneware surfaces. Once dry, the pieces were then glazed with Georgies’ “No More Tears” clear cone 6 glaze and fired for a final time.

The measurements listed below indicate the width and height of the set of bowls when stacked; the bottom bowl is 1.75 inches tall and about 5.2 inches wide; the top bowl is about 1.75 inches tall and 4 inches wide.

This marbled bowl was thrown with 4 different clay bodies that were slightly wedged together, each clay boasting an individual color; black, red, white, and off-white. The process of throwing on the wheel naturally created the multi-colored spiral effect seen on the piece. Once bisque fired, the piece was coated in a thick layer of Georgies’ “No More Tears” clear glaze, which muted the black and red hues to look more earth toned. The unglazed clay at the base of the piece show off the original colors of the clay.
